The Yamal peninsula lies in the north of Siberia and the arctic conditions make this a tough working environment. The project included the development of a detailed model of the selected concept of the Yamal LNG terminal, including reproduction of breakdown of LNG trains, pumps and loading arms, ship arrival law with random variability, meteorological thresholds different for any ship type and any berth. The impact on the key operational indicators of several parameters (modified with respect to the “Base Case”) has been studied.
The simulation consists amongst others of fleet characteristics, process duration, production and loading rates, sailing duration, condensate production and export, maintenance and failures and weather. Results show items like volume of LNG exported, berth occupancy, ship cycle times and waiting times in various levels of detail.
